The Annual Volunteers Congress (VCON) 2024, organized by the IPAC Foundation, united volunteers and leaders from the Volunteer Force Against Hepatitis Transmission (VFAHT) to develop solutions to prevent infectious diseases in Pakistan. The event gathered participants from institutions like Aga Khan University, Ziauddin University, RLKU Medical College, and DKT Pakistan to exchange ideas, and build skills.
The congress commenced in Lahore with keynote addresses and a volunteer recognition ceremony attended by Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Chairman of the Prime Minister Youth Program. Key discussions focused on managing hepatitis through improved data practices and compliance.
In Karachi covered suturing techniques, AI for sustainable development, and the ethical implications of technology in healthcare.
The closing ceremony at Ziauddin University included a public health quiz, discussions on contraceptives in disease prevention, and addresses from DKT and Roche Diagnostics. Volunteers were recognized for their contributions, inspiring continued efforts in their communities.
