This course in Cross Infection Control in Dental Settings is designed for Dental Health-care Professionals (DHCP) to equip them with knowledge and the training required to implement all necessary Cross Infection Control Protocols to ensure the safety of their patients as well as their team members. The course encompasses easy and practical ways of implementing basic guidelines for Infection Control in Dentistry. It will prepare the DHCP to comply with the Minimum Services Delivery Standards set forth by the Provincial Healthcare Commissions for Infection Control in Dental Settings.

Dentists, Dental Assistants, Dental Students, Dental Technologists, Dental Hygienists and other Dental Auxiliary team members.

  • Spread of various infections via dental settings and the most common infections involved during dental practices
  • Cross infection and the importance of understanding the chain of infection
  • Importance of administrative measures to ensure a safe dental practice
  • Role of an Infection Prevention Coordinator and its importance
  • Immunizations of the Dental Health Care Professionals (DHCP) and record keeping of the same
  • Regular training in Infection Control of the DHCPs
  • Standard Precautions in Dentistry and how to implement them
  • Guidelines to follow the Minimum Service Delivery Standards by the Provincial/Federal Government
  • Management of various sections of a dental setting
  • Customizing infection control practices for a particular dental setting
  • Maintaining log books to ensure compliance of the dental team to the guidelines

Certification Benefits

Each participant will be eligible for a Certificate of Completion with 06 hours of CDE accreditation (Issued by the University of Health Sciences, Lahore, and Department of Oral Hygiene and Safe Dentistry, IPAC Foundation) after successful completion of the certification course.

The certification in this course will allow the participants to successfully play the role of an Infection Control Manager in any dental clinical setting. It will empower the participants to ensure a safe dental practice they work at or own.

Assessment will be taken online through multiple-choice questionnaire. Assessment will be timed, and students will have to submit the assessment before the end time.
